Day 38
Location:
Marysville to Wooster, OH
Distance:
101 miles.Temp: 67 - 70 F rain – overcast - rain
Dew point: - 69 F
Winds:
calm
Cumulative climbing distance: 3,763 ft
Cumulative descending distance: 3,887 ft
Same
story as yesterday. Started at 7:00 AM
this morning in the rain. Not an ideal
way to start the day as our clothes were wet the entire day. The rained stopped after 2 hours and started
again for the last hour.
Quite
humid with a dew point of 69 F and heavy overcast all day, so no drying of the
wet clothes, especially the pants. After biking also 300 miles in 3 days, with
wet pants each day, you can guess what happened, more saddle sores.
Today
completed my 3rd century ride of the trip and first on back-to-back
days. Very tired but an awarding
accomplishment.
The terrain has become more hilly than yesterday as can be seen by the cumulative climbing and descending numbers. We basically ended at the same elevation that we started after cumulatively climbing 3700 ft.
Today a bridge on our route was being rebuild, which resulted in some quick, on-the-spot, rerouting. But, as always, CrossRoads staff was able to solve the issue.
Typical small town main street with grain mill and feed store.
We are in Amish country. The small town of Funk is a Amish community.
Started to see oil wells today.
Wooster city courthouse and offices.
Judi's favorite flower -hydrangea (at the hotel).
Another pasta dinner.
More rain for the Ohio Valley this week. Don't put away that rain gear just yet! Travel safe you guys. Congrats on the 100 mile club!
