Throughout our travels in Arizona, New Mexico and now, Texas, we continuously encounter closed or abandoned stores, restaurants, and motels.  All are signs of changing travel patterns (i.e., freeway vs the blue highways) and travelers expectations.

 

Crossroads often sets up our daily SAG wagon stops in either locations with services (like a gas station or convenience store) or a the parking lot of a closed business, depending what is available at the appropriate mileage spacing between stops.

  In the garage was a circa 1950 DeSota (a car line of Chrysler discontinued in 1961).
