Cumulative descending distance:  751 ft
 

We are now biking in the flat Great Plains.  A continuation from yesterday, but with favorable biking conditions.
 
Short distance day given the spacing of towns with appropriated hotels and services.  The bike tour also wanted to visit the “Wizard of Oz” museum, Dorothy's family farm house, and an aircraft museum located in Liberal, KS.
 
 
 
  

We are headed to Hooker, OK and then to Liberal, KS.

The "Wizard of OZ" museum has displays for each of the key scenes from the book and film.

The Mid-American Flight Museum has over 105 planes and helicopters from the early 1930's to the present, including Vietnam War fighter jets.
 

This is a WWII B-25 bomber.  My father was a flight engineer on B-25's in 1942.
 
 
 I did not realize that Coronado had explored this far north in 1541.  We visited a museum that had artifacts currently discovered in the Liberal, KS area including a Spanish helmet, sword and saddle hardware.
